Episode III - Rise of the Sith
Ship lands on the outskirts of Mos Alpa on Tatooine. Ship door opens and Anakin walks down as a straight homage to Darth Vader enterance scene in Return of the Jedi. Kwan follows and it is revealed why they are here. Rose Skywalker is on the ship, sick, dying. She is pregnant with twins who are so powerful with the force that its killing her and she will not surivive the birth. Anakin's character is serious, depressed, fearful, and angry. They have returned to Anakin's hometown in search for the character, DOCKE. Docke is a Medicine Man, gifted with the talents of being able to heal the wounded and sick. His methods are natural medicines. Backstory is that Rose has already been through the high technology of the Hospitial Port on Corcusant and nothing is prepared dealing with twins powerful with the Force. Anakin is turning to this method in hopes of a cure to save Rose. UREBA is introduced as Rose's personal nurse. Kwan is also always by her side as well. Anakin and Kwan head out to town where we return to the corrupt, ugly city that is Mos Alpa.
Anakin locates a corrupt alien named Calooq. Calooq knows the whereabouts of Docke. After paying Calooq, Anakin learns his location. He runs into a gang who surround Anakin & Kwan. Daggett makes his way to confront Anakin. Daggett acknowledges Anakin's hero status of the galaxy and somewhat respects him, but wants compensation from the events of Episode I, where he rescued the Queen. Daggett wants money for his troubles and threatens Anakin. Anakin says he will not pay and leaves.
Anakin goes through a challenge getting to a hidden location of Docke. Docke's backstory is that he is wanted by Daggett's men due to an event that happened a while back. Daggett put a bounty on Docke's head. Docke is intelligent and knows of Anakin's story. Anakin asks for Docke to help Rose and promises to get him off Tatooine into Corcusant where his talents can shine. Anakin & Kwan take Docke to the Queen's ship far outside the city. They were being followed the whole time by Daggett's gang. Docke begins to examine, but concludes that the Force & science are two different things, that there is nothing he can do to help her. Anakin can't accept this. The ship is now surrounded by Daggett's guards. Anakin must confront his past. Kwan uses his blaster and Anakin exits the ship. A massive rhino-type of monster is unleashed, Kwan is the one that kills it. Anakin ignites his red lightsaber and throws it, using the force to whirl it at full speed , taking out nearly all the gang members. Daggett is left, wounded on the ground. Anakin walks to him, bends down and force chokes him to death. This is the first time we see Anakin use the dark side. Docke looks on. It is time for them to return to Corcusant. Docke leaves the ship and heads to town. Kwan asks why he is not going to Corcusant. Docke whispers that he does not want to be on the same planet as Anakin once Rose passes away. He would rather be safe on Tatooine. Docke has a great sense of what is to come. With Daggett dead, Docke is free. The ship leaves toward Corcusant.
Ship lands in the Corcusant Hospital Port high above the city. Obi Wan Kenobi is introduced and greets Anakin. Obi Wan is concerned for his friend. He knows there is nothing anyone can do. Its a sad moment. Obi Wan informs Anakin that they have been approved by the Council to interview the captured Razaak in the Corusant prison. Anakin pretends to be interested, but his mind is focused on Rose. Obi Wan realizes this and stops the conversation. Obi Wan then reveals that Yoda is coming to Corcusant. Anakin perks up as he wants to speak to Yoda one on one. Obi Wan says that he will get his chance to speak with Yoda on the matter but not to put too much thought into it as he feels Yoda won't be the answer Anakin is looking for.
Anakin & Obi Wan arrive at the Corcusant large prison where they go deep into the prison to confront Razaak. Razaak seems to have gone mad. At the interview, Razaak seems crazy, but the main objective of Obi Wan is to find any information about Pryor or if Pryor was in communication with a possible second Sith Lord. Razaak claims he was not. Anakin feels he is lying. Razaak then discusses Pryor and mentions things about the Sith. One which is the Sith are so powerful, they can save people from dying. Suddenly, Anakin's ears perk up. He is now focused on this interview more than ever. But the interview is cut short when Razaak won't speak about it any more as his character truly is in fear for his life knowing that Palpatine is now the Chancellor. Razaak knows Palpatine's dark secret.
Anakin & Obi Wan go to the Jedi meeting where Baz Newton discusses the current events and we are updating on the current state of the galaxy. There is a war brewing. Small groups throughout the galaxy are fed up with Palpatine. Palpatine has confirmed that there will not be another election until the Clone Federation including Razaak are completely wiped out. He is using his army to sweep the galaxy searching for any trace of the Clone Federation. He claims once Razaak and the Clone Federation are gone, then things will go back to normal. This does not sit well with many across the galaxy.
Anakin has his first one on one session with Yoda. He is nervous, he is sad. Yoda senses his feelings and cracks a few small jokes to lighten the mood, the same way he was playful in Empire Strikes Back. This eases Anakin up a bit. Anakin explains his wife is dying due to the babies being powerful with the force and its killing Rose. He says science can't cure her, but wanted to know if there was a way the Force could save her. Yoda replies that the Force can do many things, some of which hasn't been discovered, but for that power he has not mastered. He then gives Anakin life advice about the subject of life and death. Anakin can not accept this answer. He thanks Yoda for taking the time to see him face to face.
Anakin visits Rose in the hospital, and her condition is getting worse. Kwan and Ureba are by her side. Anakin leaves and sits quietly in his ship. He then realizes he must see Razaak again. Late night, Anakin breaks in the prison using Jedi Mind Tricks to fool the guards. He finally gets in Razaak's cell. Razaak refuses to talk, and this is where we see Anakin turn to the dark side once more. He force chokes him and throws him against the wall. Razaak finally reveals there is another Sith Lord and that it is Palpatine. He says he intercepted a transmission one time when Pryor was in communication with him. Anakin knows that this information can not get out to the open for it could damage his chances of getting Palpatine to help him. Razaak says that Palpatine will kill him soon so he plans on telling everyone. Anakin murders Razaak by force choking him to death.
Next day, Obi Wan awakes Anakin at the Hospital Port. Anakin awakes like as if he was having a bad dream. Obi Wan and Anakin head to the 'Time Square' of Corcusant where there is a massive announcement from Mon Motha. She announces Razaak has passed away and that now it is time Palpatine step down from his position. Crowd cheers.
Jedi gather at the underground Jedi Temple to discuss the matter. Baz asks Anakin to directly speak with Palpatine and get his intentions and try to talk him into a peaceful transition of power. Anakin intially refuses to his dilemma, but then gives in. Anakin is trying to process things in his mind and figure things out.
Anakin heads to Palpatine starship outside Corcusant where he is secure. Anakin boards and exits the ship to see hundreds of Storm Troopers. Palpatine has taken the precautions of protection. Palpatine is excited to see Anakin, but Anakin is fearful of him, no longer trusts him, but at the same time needs him. Anakin says he needs to talk to him, but Palpatine says he can't because he has to make a broadcast. As he is walking away, Anakin blurts out 'You are the other Sith'. Palpatine slowly turns to him and replies he will sit down with him after his announcement. Palpatine makes a speech stating that he will not be giving up his power at this time. The idea that Mon Motha will be next Chancellor any time soon is not likely. Suddenly, there is a massive attack on the ship. It is a Rebel group there to take out Palpatine. The rebels enter the ship and war breaks out. Anakin rescues Palpatine and gets him in his ship. Anakin takes off. Palpatine tells Anakin to go to certain cordinates. The cordinates lead to LOVAL ORN system. It is a jungle planet. Deep in the jungle, lies an ancient Sith Temple where the first Sith trained ages ago. In the Temple, Palpatine reveals he knows the dark side, but is not an enemy of Anakin or the Jedi. Palpatine says he does not want a war, but has worked hard to build up safety in the galaxy. Palpatine reveals his lightning powers which awes Anakin. Anakin demands to know if he can use this dark side of the force to save Rose. Palpatine replies that he can. But Palpatine says he needs Anakin to keep the Jedi off his back in his time of need. Anakin agrees but threatens him.
Anakin and Palpatine return to Corcusant. Obi Wan rushes toward the ship to ask Anakin if he is okay. Anakin is fearful Obi Wan will see Palpatine, but he turns around and Palpatine has disappeared. Anakin is confused on how he did that. Anakin reunites with the Jedi who are in a meeting with Mon Motha. Mon Motha reveals the Rebels of Erther were responsible for the attack. There are several different Rebel groups in the galaxy who oppose Palpatine. The ones that attacked are the aggressive ones, Mon Motha says she will try to contact their leader to talk about a better more diplomatic strategy for this time. Anakin is angry at Mon Motha and starts to aggressively argue with her that he was on the ship and his life was in danger. She apologizes, but said she doesn't have control of all the Rebel groups, she is only in contact with a few and that they all respect her. Anakin leaves.
Anakin heads to the Space Hospital to learn that Rose has been taken back to Anakin's apartment. Anakin is confused, but heads back. He lands and notices Palpatine's guards are there. He grabs his lightsaber. He enters the room and sees Palpatine levitating Rose. Rose is asleep, but not coughing anymore. Palpatine lowers her down on the bed where she awakes. She sees Anakin and smiles. Anakin rushes to her bed, and she says she is not sure what happened, but she feels better. Anakin in tears, tells her that he promises he can save her. She starts to respond, but falls asleep. Anakin stands up face to face with Palpatine.
Palpatine broad cast. He announces the authorization of an official Republic Army. Shockwaves throughout Corcusant. Scene of Jedi with Mon Motha. Baz Newton and Yoda decide Palpatine must be removed in the near future once things calm down. Obi Wan can't get in contact with Anakin, so he decides to go to see Anakin in person.
Obi Wan finds Anakin on a rooftop of his quarters. Obi Wan reveals the meeting that Palpatine has to go. Anakin says he can't let that happen. Obi Wan asks why. This is the scene where Anakin gives Obi Wan his old blue lightsaber. He says he constructed a new lightsaber using Darth Pryor's red lightsaber because he wanted his son to have it. Obi Wan is concerned that Anakin is talking like he is going to do something crazy. Anakin asks Obi Wan if he can trust him. Obi Wan says he can. Anakin reveals his inner struggle. He says Palpatine is the Sith Lord and that Palpatine is the only one that can save Rose, he has powers even Yoda has not yet mastered. Anakin says he witnessed the dark side is more powerful. Obi Wan is shocked, argues that they must kill Palpatine, but Anakin says its his only chance to save Rose. Anakin tells Obi Wan that he can not tell any of the Jedi or anyone. Obi Wan leaves.
Kwan gets Anakin's attention to inform him Rose has gotten worse. Anakin rushes to her bed, she is coughing violently. Anakin tells Ureba and Kwan to get her on ship. Anakin flies toward Palpatine location, Kwan argues that they need to go to the Hospital Port, but Anakin ignores him. He rushes Rose in. Palpatine clears the room with his commanders and guards. He uses the Force to calm her breathing and coughing. Palpatine takes a while but does make Rose feel better. Palpatine informs Anakin he needs to be in the room when she gives birth, its the only way to save her life. There is a call to Palpatine that there is a Jedi to see him. Anakin confused on who it is, but the name is 'Kenobi'. Anakin says its okay. Obi Wan walks in Palpatine office with caution as he knows Palpatine is the most dangerous person in the galaxy. He slowly walks to Anakin. He says that the Jedi are on their way to capture Palpatine and he is here to get Rose before they arrive. Anakin says he wont let them take him. Anakin gives Obi Wan the okay to take Rose back to his apartment. Rose, Ureba, and Obi Wan get Rose to a speeder. Palpatine doesn't trust Obi Wan and tells his Storm Troopers to follow him.
Anakin and Palpatine are together and they hear the explosions outside the building. There is a rebel group that is at war with the Storm Troopers of the Republic. Suddenly, Baz Newton and three other Jedi have entered the office. They know Palpatine is a Sith. Anakin asks if Obi Wan told them. Anakin is heartbroken that Obi Wan broke his trust. He thought he was his friend. Anakin tells Baz that he won't let them take Palpatine. Lightsabers ignite. Baz threatens Anakin, and Anakin lashes at Baz. Palpatine uses lightning to kill off the three Jedi. An epic battle of the second most powerful Jedi Baz against Anakin. Palpatine guides Anakin to use his anger to win. Anakin uses his emotions and kills Baz Newton. Anakin has truly crossed over to the dark side at this point. Meanwhile, Obi Wan noticed he was being followed, but tries to outrun the Storm Troopers. There is a massive speeder chase over the buildings of Corcusant. Obi Wan loses them. He tells Kwan and Ureba that they have to get Rose out of this system and head back to Alderaan. Obi Wan meets with Bail Organa and remaining Jedi including Yoda. The Alderaan crew and Jedi then have to go undercover through the rough side of Corcusant to get to an escape ship.
Palpatine gets a message from his troopers that the speeder got away and was not heading toward Anakin's apartment. Anakin doesn't believe that. Palpatine tells Anakin that Obi Wan is not with him anymore. That he is a traitor. He tells Anakin that they must lock down the entire system of Corcusant to get Rose back. He tells Anakin to go to Mustafar and collect the Republic Army to counter the rebels and have enough man power to lock down the planet. Anakin says he still doesn't believe Obi Wan would not do what he asks. Anakin rushes to an empty apartment. There is no Rose. There is no Obi Wan. It is dark, quiet and he is alone. Anakin screams and shatters a window. He heads to Mustafar.
Palpatine broadcast - Due to the increase violence of the various Rebel groups, he is now creating something more powerful than a Republic - An Empire to bring order for peace in the galaxy. The planet is locked down.
The Jedi see to Rose and Aldereaan crew get aboard a ship to leave. Bail Organa reveals Anakin is on Mustafar. Obi Wan commands the other Jedi to gather a plan to get Palpatine, he has to go bring Anakin back to the light. Yoda says that is not possible, Anakin is too far to the dark side, there is no turning back. Obi Wan argues with Yoda. Yoda says that the Jedi mission is now to find safety to fight another day. The three remaining Jedi rebel against Yoda's wishes, says they will get Palpatine. Obi Wan tells them to wait up for him but he has to get his friend back in Mustafar. Yoda says that they are making a mistake. Yoda and the Jedi say their goodbyes, but Yoda is boarding the Alderaan ship.
Obi Wan finds one of the Rebel groups that are planning a giant attack. He needs to know Anakin's location. The leader of the Rebel group gives Obi Wan the information he needs and a tracking advice as they plan on attacking Mustphar. Obi Wan disguises himself as a prisoner of one of the rebels who was captured outside of Palpatine's building earlier. Obi Wan heads to Mustafar.
Obi Wan & Anakin confront each other on Mustphar. It starts calm, but gets more and more heated. Anakin tells the guards to back off as this is personal thing and doesn't need any help. Anakin yells at Obi Wan that he broke his trust. Obi Wan argues back that going to the dark side will not solve his problems. Eventually, the two men stop using words and begin their epic lightsaber battle, which only takes place on the side of the volcano mountain that the were located on.
Meanwhile, things have gotten worse on the Alderaan ship. They can't take off as there are too many tie fighters and Imperial ships that have entered the system. But Rose is going into labor. They have to get out of the system. Kwan is yelling at the pilot. It is chaos within the ship. The ship is leaving and going to gun it. Their ship is noticed by Imperial fighters and followed. Things are getting close to disaster. They have to go, Rose is going to give birth soon. Suddenly, a giant explosion on the ships that have surrounded Alderaan escape ship. There is a message broadcasted from Mon Motha. She declares war on this Empire and now announces she has united each of the different rebel groups into the 'Rebel Alliance'. Massive space war breaks out, which clears room for the Alderaan ship to exit the system finally.
Obi Wan and Anakin continue to clash until finally Obi Wan gets the best of his student. Anakin is down, hurt. Obi Wan can't kill him though. Anakin screaming in pain, Obi Wan leaves. He presses the tracking device. He finds a somewhat safe area and sees the sun rise in the nasty planet of Mustphar. As he watches this beautiful sunrise, he begins to cry himself.
Rose is giving birth. This could be the end of Rose. A medical droid helps with the babies. Her eyes are closed as if she is about to die, but lives. Kwan and Bail look over as it is Yoda who is using the Force to save her. A method which he has never done, but nevertheless tries it. Yoda saves Rose. The sound of babies crying.

Yoda says that its over. They are on a suicide mission and will not succeed. The Emperor is too powerful at this point. Yoda says it is time to retreat. He says Obi Wan has a new mission, to look after one of the babies. Rose will raise the baby girl hidden on Alderaan. Obi Wan says he does not know how to raise a child, but Yoda says he will not have to. Yoda says the baby boy will be raised by his true family. Kwan will raise the baby. Obi Wan disagrees and says he needs to fight Palpatine. However, Ureba hands over Luke to Obi Wan. Obi Wan's heart melts. After looking into the eyes of Luke, his mission is now to look after him. Yoda says he is leaving for good. For he is now weak and not a Jedi Warrior he once was. To live his final years in solitude studying the mysteries of the Force. Obi Wan wishes him well.

Kwan and Ureba locate their newly bought farm. Obi Wan watches from a distance. The twin suns set.
THE END
AFTER THOUGHTS
The Return to Tatooine
The idea of a person who is a nobody in a town, leaves becomes a somebody and returns to that town is something a lot of people dream about. We all wanted to succeed in life and return to our high school reunion just to say - hey, look at me now. That is something I wanted to add into this about Anakin because its part of his development. He was a street kid when he was in this town. Now he is returning a Jedi hero. The other reason is Luke was on Tatooine in Ep.4 and returned two films later, both in Act 1. Anakin's character also in first film in act 1, and two stories later returns in act 1. The third reason is I always had the intention to complete the Sheriff / Anakin storyline. The idea that Anakin would return home and kill Sheriff was appealing. Its also the very first time he uses the dark side to force choke someone to death - he learns it here with Daggett. So that is part of his character development which I found interesting.
Prince Kwan Winters
This is the 'twist' of this Star Wars film. I always try to give the audience surprises. I loved when people were saying "you didn't include Uncle Owen in Episode 1 or 2, so this is a big mistake!". Its great because Owen was in all three movies, the audience just doesn't realize it until the end of this movie. Also, the thing about my stories is I'm big on character development. Now, I studied the original trilogy like crazy and Uncle Owen didn't have a back story in the film, just speculation outside of the movies and a dumb excuse to be in Lucas' prequels. But I thought wouldn't it be interesting to really give Owen a truly memorable backstory that the audience would accept it to match the original trilogy. The character arc of Owen / Kwan is that he is next in line to be the King of Alderaan, but simply gives up that entire life just to raise his nephew - because family is more important than any castle or being a king. That is his arc. In prequels, Kwan is young, eager, adventurous - but in Ep.4 A New Hope, Uncle Owen is a tired grumpy old man who over protects Luke from turning into his father. My prequel stories explain that - he could have been a king, now he's stuck as a farmer in a dreadful planet. That would make anyone grumpy. I also like the idea that Owen is Luke's real Uncle. In the books, Owen was Kenobi's brother. In the prequel movies, Owen is a half brother. In my prequels, he's the real uncle. And you see him sacrafice his whole kingdom and life as a King just to raise his sister's baby boy. It's admirable and gives Owen another dimension.
Anakin Character Arc
Anakin went down the path toward the dark side because of his dying wife, yes i realize that is Lucas concept as well, but I tried other ways to bring Anakin down, but this is without a doubt the best route to go. You try any other way, it lessens his caring for Rose, which would contradict the entire last story I wrote. The character I wrote would do anything for Rose. I think most people didn't have an issue with Anakin's downfall in Lucas film, they just hated the execution and the other crap piled on it. Mine is pretty straight forward and I believe his downfall is different enough than Lucas film. He develops by slowly going toward the dark side. That is a better execution rather than one minute he's a good guy Jedi and then Lucas wrote him to suddenly chop off Mace Windu's arm and then go kill younglings. Absolutely no development whatsoever. Its poorly executed and I feel I did more of a build up. On Tatooine he slowly goes to the dark side by killing Daggett, but Daggett was so bad, the audience didn't disapprove Anakin at this point. Then, he kills Razaak. Once again, Razaak was bad , the audience isn't upset he's killed by Anakin, but the audience questions some of Anakin's practices on his method, like sneaking in, its all sketchy at this point. Then, Anakin goes to Palpatine, audience thinks well maybe he made some mistakes, but will turn good at this point and do the right thing, and he instead gives more and more into the dark side for his love. Finally, as Palpatine is influencing his mind and give him hope for his wife and children - then he is faced with the challenge of protecting Palpatine from the Sith. And then all hell breaks loose. Once he kills the Jedi, Baz Newton , really he knows , Palpatine knows and the entire audience whos reading this knows - Anakin is too far to the dark side now. It's Obi Wan Kenobi who feels that there is stilllll that little hope that he can bring Anakin back to the light side. Well, that meeting didn't go as planned and that is when Anakin has to wear the suit for the rest of his life. Obi Wan was right, there was good in him and could be brought back, but not at this time and not by Obi Wan. Only by his son , Luke many many years later.
New Characters
It's always fun to write new characters and base them off of things. With Docke, I named him after Doc Brown from Back to the Future. I would like to model his character after him, with frizzy hair, older, but an alien. Docke is interesting as he is quite mysterious when he just decides to leave the ship and return back to Tatooine. A questionable move, but once the audience learns its because Anakin, its foreshadowing. Docke is so smart, he sees whats going on with the situation and he also knows how powerful Anakin is. So his character certianly learns a lot. I always wanted Mon Motha in the prequels. I think she was a deleted scene in Lucas film. Typical. Great character you could do a lot with that would make her Return of the Jedi appearance even more special is a deleted scene. But well, thats what I'm here for. Mon Motha could be the voice of reason and the next great Chancellor, but Palpatine ruins all of that for her, thus she is a respected political and a natural leader, so she unites the Rebels together for a Rebel Alliance. Am I the only one who thought it would be interesting to have Rebel "Alliance" mean something ? I just figured maybe there were a bunch of rebel groups and when palaptine was too out of control, they had to come together to take on the Chancellor.
Emperor Palpatine
The one thing that was great in Lucas prequel was the idea that Palpatine could use dark side to save Padme. Only it was all bs. Or it was so poorly written by Lucas, the audience has no clue if he really could or if he was all talk to manipulate Anakin. Well, I like the idea that Palpatine CAN save Rose and its well established that he can. It's a tough task to balance out Palpatine in this one. You can't have him too evil because then how is Anakin going to turn, so you have to make him somewhat of a likable person just to Anakin, and since Anakin in the main character, he is somewhat likable tot he audience. Then you realize he is pure evil and takes over the galaxy. And no lightsaber fights with Palpatine. That one with Mace in ROTS was dumb and looked weird. It was like CGI Ian McDiarmid doing back flips and all this, then these goofy close ups of him making strange faces. It came across odd and fake. I like the idea of the older more experienced Jedi / Sith not being warriors, just simply kicking ass from their sofa because they are so strong with the force.
